due to pinKqi's request i shall post the answers for the questions that i've posted last time...

hey people, S8 is supposed to be a good class lor.. but den, now our class result is like so not promising and furthermore, our results are even declining, especially physics and econs.. i would like to ask all of u to spend more time on ur weaker subjects.. even for me lor.. i know its rather difficult.. but make sure ur persevere.. live up to the name of S8...

Study = No Fail ___ (1)
No Study = Fail ___ (2)

(1)+(2):
Study + No Study = No Fail + Fail
Study(1 + No) = Fail(1 + No)
=> Study = Fail ___ (3)

i jus wan to say tt Equations (1) and (2) are true (proven mathematically through mathemtical induction) but equation (3) is onli true up to the standard of 'O' lvl, its not true for all values of real numbers.. So, start ur revision from today onwards.. anyone needs any help excluding vectors and vectors space and econs can approach me.. i will be helpful IFF i'm not busy and in good mood..

RE: OCIP again

so many qns abt the OCIP.. i think we should plan it out.. do it step by step.. too many things together will be very complicated and confusing..
first, we should comfirm who are willing and able to go
second, we elect a organising commitee so tt we can do things and decide things faster..
then, we would work on the proposal all those stuffs for fund raising et cetera..
basically jus like tt.. but most importantly, we should have some sense of urgency.. dun always dilly dally.. in the end, nothing is done..

yEa... i'm like kinda excited about the whole thing already... hope we really can go... cos i last yr was suppose to go chiang mai for cip lar... but because of bird flu or something we couldn't go. ya... it was kinda disappointing. esp after we got sponsors from national youth council (think is $100 per person or something... i'm not very sure)... after fund raising and stuff... yA...

i told my mum about this yesterday night... think she don't object strongly laR... but she have questions that normal mothers have about their daughters going overseas without them lAr... ya... esp when she hasn't met mr cheng yet... and doesn't know a thing about him... and no female teachers are going with us and stuff... yA... girls you all should know what i mean...

but heng we're going to northern thailand... not southern thailand cos southern thailand is near malaysia and they got conflict at the border... yA... =)

think i'm like kinda talking rubbish right... ok i shall stop now... tA-tA~

updates on OCIP

dear s8... ystd, mr cheng talked to a grp of us abt the ocip trip... so i wil update those who didnt get to hear it..

if we go, it will be a hilltribe village in chiang rai, thailand.. prob in early dec cos we have to be ard for mrs ho's farewell party at the end of nov.. there are 3 types of ocip tat we can do

1) construction
this will need alot of money for the equipments.. n it will need more ppl.. it is not as easy job n many ppl may get injured easily..

2) teaching
we can go there to teach the village children.. i think this is quite fun.. but merticulous n careful planning on the materials to teach n the games to be played, is needed.. so if we choose this, we need to plan v carefully. also, the children may be quite hard to handle cos they are interested in playing everyday when they come to school.. so we must get them interested when we teach..

3) farming
this is quite interesting n fresh too. but it will be quite tiring as well. and not v suitable for ppl with fears of heights (jies..) cos we will be farming on the hills.. yup..

the trip will cost abt $600 a person.. cos it will bot be under the school.. maybe we can get some sponsers (i dunno) fm national youth council or sth.. then also.. we can raise funds after promos. we may also need to bring old clothes there to sell at a v cheap rate to the villages there..

the next thing is tat, we will be going there to take hardship.. to help the ppl n to experience the lifestyle they live.. so this will be the conditions that we will be living in..
1) no electricity.. meaning at night, it will be pitch dark
2) no proper toilet system.. n no hot water for shower...
3) no hot water means bath in cold water which is v cold cos we're be up in the hillside..n trust me, its v cold...( i went to a chiang mai hillside b4)
4) we will eat the food the villagers eat, also to cut down on the costs. and it may not be as hygienic. so those with weak stomachs may get diarrhoe..
5) the place will be rather dusty..

this is not to scare u guys la.. jus to get u all mentally prepared..

haha.... i know that i shldn't be so bad but i juz wanna remind everyone that promos are coming..
i know we have fun together as a class.. but recently.. all the teachers comment that our class has became very sloppy and watever.. if it's onli one teacher that says that.. then it may not be our fault.. but can u imagine, all the teachers actually said that?? It's very sad to hear all teachers say that of the class u know.... sighz..

Think our class is really in trouble this time.. PPL, BUCK UP kkkk??? It's ok to do badly for the papers but at least we muz show that we put in efforts into our studies right?? So that at least the teachers do not give up on us...

The Spook Show

Dear All S8 members, This is Peng Rend here and there is something special coming up from my church that happens only once a year.

As the title shows, it's the musical production "The Spook Show".
Well basically im inviting all of you to come for this spook show cos i think it's really worth watching. Btw, it's kinda a magic show. And also It MAY be scary to some of u. But i believe the guys aint gonna be worried lol.

Btw the details on this show is:

Showtimes:
Fri, 26 Aug - 7pm
Sat, 27 Aug - 2.30pm, 7pm
Sun, 28 Aug - 2.30pm, 7pm

Venue: Suntec Convention Halls 601-603

Ticket Pricing: $8
I will be subsidising the ticket pricing for all of you guys. But if there are really many of you who are interested, i really urge you all to try to help out by covering the full sum if you can, or at least most of it. Eg: if 15 of you goes, and let's say 10 of you are willing to pay $6, i will have to subsidise $2 for each, thus paying $30 + $8 for myself. Thus, I really would like for you all to help me as much as you can.

The Show will be approx 2.5hours and i think it's more cool to go for the 7pm timeslots 1.
Well you guys can also take this as an S8 outing or sorts.
Bear in mind that there will be evangalism as well.
Photography, video recording and audio recording are NOT allowed for this event.

Therefore, for those that are interested, please tell me by tmr 2-3pm latest. Im going to church at 4pm to see if i can get tickets.
Also, I may be able to get the tickets at $4 but i will notify all of you abt that sometime later.

1 problem though, since it's next week. It will be very rush and i may not get tickets at all. So those who are going to tell me...i may disappoint you. Well, we'll see.

HAHAS. i so totally agree with shu hui postin tht sia.. the "UN" is so POWERFUL. changes the whole meaning. i guess all of us are being angsty about this whole thing. now. let us be nice and stretch our hands out to help those people. u knw. ( *ahem* )_____ has something special compared to others. he must have something within himself so as to win so many votes over aint him? anyways, we shld thank him you knw. he HELPED us gained our ANGSTY when all of us are used to being NICE and FRIENDLY and EASY-GOING WITH ALMOST ANYTHING. ________ enabled us to find back the most IMPORTANT emotion of all = anger. so you see peeps, we shldnt be so bad towards him and start to give all sort of criticism ( even so, do it secretly, his INCORRIGIBLE fans may come up with all sort of UNREASONABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE reasons to sue us for it, and we wun want to get into any trouble rite ). well, since wht's done cant be undone, we shall BE NICE, and ACCEPT him as the winner of the guys final round. hahas. shall we? let's just hope tht he DOES let us FOLD up our ears again at the grand finals. i'll be holding on to tht faith. im sure he's gna do us singaporeans PROUD. so remember. the most important technique of all : FOLD UR EARS! and u'll hear the MOST BEAUTIFUL music ever.

project UN-superstar???

shit. the result show for the male and female project superstar winners have just ended. or should i call it project UN-superstar. and my sister is crying like a piece of shit right now. and she is singing together with the guy who got kicked out as if someone died. well... i don't mind the female winner but NOT the male one. he totally do not deserve it lar. my whole family do not enjoy his singing from the nose. 'his singing come from his nose one la!' (in-text citation from my mother). 'Wad is this lah! Let e blind go. E stage is so dull!' (in-text citation from qihao's sms) and i totally agree... man... i'm kinda angry. think qiujun, zhihao, qihao and the few other peeps in our class that watch project un-superstar would be as angry as me right now.

The Showdown: PR's Undead VS Timo's Orc

This match is the battle of the best race of both PR and Timo. Who wins in this special edition of 05S8 monthly news? Find out in this superb commentary of the breathtaking match!

The game starts in the Lost Temple map where PR is on the left and Timo bottom.
With the same and boring build order of Crypt, Ziggurat, Altar of Darkness and Graveyard by PR and the special and cute build order of Altar of Storms, Burrow and Barracks by Timo. PR's first hero is the Death Knight and Timo's first hero is the Shadow Hunter!
"What a fabulous combination of heroes. This match sure is gonna get rough."

At 3mins into gameplay, PR creeps hard and Timo stood infront of the monsters waiting for Christmas to come.
"I bet Timo's got something up his sleeves(maybe just some armpit hair)."
Oh what funny names the heroes have. PR's DK's name is Lord Soulrender and Timo's SH's name is Jo Jo Headshrinker.
"I think blizzard entertainment name producer is really a funny and lame person don't you think so?"

At this point(4:27mins into the game) Jo Jo Headshrinker is still at lvl 1 with 88 exp and Lord Soulrender is at lvl 2 with 232 exp.
"Seems like PR is on the lead, but will his lead last?"
Timo suddenly attacks PR's Base at 5mins into the game and PR lost a Crypt Fiend!!! However, PR's forces came back to rescue the day and pushed Timo back causing him to lose a grunt. Sadly both are back in their bases tendering to the wounded.
"So Boring..."

PR reaches Tier 2 at 6mins23secs and Timo reaches Tier 2 at 6mins50secs. HAHAHA! PR's faster again. At this point, PR trained a 2nd hero - Lich and his crappy name is Venim Iceblade.
"It's rather humourous isn't it, to have weird names for weird creatures...eh, isn't that supposed to be correct? lol"

And a 2nd wave of attack by Timo at 9mins on PR's base with his tactic of Grunts+Headhunters and PR with tactic of Fiends and more Fiends. With the battle getting heated and PR's base under heavy fire by Timo, PR yet again comes in time to save his base. However, PR's Lord Soulrender went in too early and Timo's forces beseiged PR's DK and panic filled that DK. Luckily, PR manage to get his DK to squirm his way out with the Lich's special skill *Frost Armour. PR's Dk left the battlefield wounded and on the brink of death...

And that leaves PR's Lich and fiends to fight the battle. PR focus fires on Timo's SH and sent him on the brink of death too (haha!!!) and thus the boring act of retreating happens again....BuT! PR is not gonna let his SH run away freely, and with a spurt of his adrenaline, pushed himself forward and delivered 2 death coils onto Timo's SH and sent him to the alternate world. (PR giggles to himself hahaha)

With rage and anger filling up in Timo's BOWELS. He Spent all his gold into building the strongest land unit in the whole game....The mighty Taurens~!
"PR's in for a big surprise"

Now it's PR's turn to counter attack! He heads for Timo's base and employ the famous tactic of Hit-and-Run killing picking out many of Timo's units just like picking your own nose.(removing the shiny golden particles one by one)
and the best golden piece picked by PR is Timo's hero again! sending him to the alternative world yet again. Muhahaha.

I guess this match is dragging too long and it's PR's turn to get his strongest air unit....The Bony Frost Wyrms(btw, he spits ice-cubes).

And bla bla bla... PR took out Timo's base.

PR's casualties: 2 fiends throughout the whole game
Timo's casualties: too many to count.
PR's heroes levels: 6, 6
Timo's heroes levels: 3
And the game ended in approximately 25mins
To catch the replay, catch PR and he'll send it to u. =D

With superior micro skills timo overwhelmed Peng Rend's forces in every match that they played over B.net. Looks like he over rated himself( P.R.) you were a sitting duck loh, you sure u never give chance to timo or not.

update abt chalet

yea... when to check out the chalet vacancies... aloha changi seems quite vacant... aloha loyang a bit lesser only... it seems that a lot of ppl don like to go to aloha...

ya... i went to both aloha chalets... changi one is kinda out of the way... only got 1bus which is 29 frm tampines interchange which brings ppl right into the area where the chalets are... but some chalets are even more out of the way so the bus doesn't go there... so if wanna go there den must choose the correct ones la... ya... then the loyang one... have to walk in... cos its after a stretch of landed property... so no bus go in. but i read on the net that got shutter bus go there... so its better la... loyang one not bad... got quite a lot of facilities... got basketball court... arcade (but kinda lousy)... swimming pool... kids indoor playground (which we cannot play in)... and its just across the beach... but the bad pt is the gate to the beach closes at 9pm which is kind of early lar... ya... got sundry shop also but close quite early. actually i did not see it open when i was there lar... oh ya... changi de... if wanna go buy extra supplies have to walk to downtown east the cheers which is open 24hrs... ya... quite far...

but i find the vacancies for aloha chalets a bit too much... maybe someone can tell me y got so many vancancies? =)

happy national day

hey everyone.. happy national day! n welcome back to the ltc ppls.. u guys missed all the fun we had facilitating the ndp games n the class outing.. but i bet u guys had fun too! yup, basically cos it was raining, the progamme was switched to the wet weather games.. and all the students played was the memory game.. and almost every class scored consecutive zeroes.. hahah.. n the class outing was needless to say, fun! but it would be even better if eeryone could go of cos.. so next time we hold one more, all of u mus go k?

05S8 8/8/05 at Siloso Sentosa

heys people.
for the class outing on 8/8/05, only 8 people went for the s8 very first class outing. hahas. they are namely joann shuhui xiujun xinyan me zhihao qihao mok. but we still had fun. it was a pity the whole class wasnt there cos it was really great fun. but anyway, shuhui is planning a chalet at de end of the year. below are the links for the sentosa outing photos:

Aloha Everyone!!

aloha!! we LTC people finally back ler.. the camp is tiring and fun as well.. anyway abt the chalet.. i went to aloha changi before, if i din remember wrongly, its chalet block "L".. there quite big, as compared to those downtown one ("duh"?) and coastal sand one.. but the prob is that we can onli use 25 units of electricity per day, so air con will be very limited and den the TV there, i dun think can watch one... but can play if someone bring PS or wat la.. last time my friend brought PS2.. hehe.. btw there are 3 rooms and 2 toilets.. and there is a big piece of land in front of the chalet where the barbeque pit is (though, not big enough to fly kite).. last time we played water bomb with the people in the chalet next to us, can attack through the front door and oso attack from back door.. hehe.. that's basically it la.. there will be 1 or 2 bus going ard the place la.. so its still considered accessible and den changi village is not that far (i forgotten how many bus stops).. but it is walkable.. hemm.. anything need to ask? feel free to ask me.. ask me dun need to pay one..

hey peeps... i've found out that aloha chalet have the most vacancies during the school hols + its not very expensive... but need mr cheng to book for us since civil servants have special rates... but still haven decide whether to go aloha changi or loyang... but i'll print out the infos and let u all choose on thurs... or maybe u all got some suggestions? yea...

"Cheng: To Go Or Not To Go?" by oACo

i wont be presenting this article to you like a gp essay, lol. (thus, no balanced response given) but i'll tell you what i feel.
it is ok to have mr cheng tagging along, judging from past experiences of 05S8A (1st 3 months). i went to his house during chi new year, plus he was present at the 8a outing to east coast. what can i draw from these 2 events? Treats. im not saying mr cheng is super loaded or that hes that super generous, but hes nice enough to make the class happy with some cash. but he does have some $ ;). i saw him shopping for sports shoes after the escapade thing (1st 3 months).
mr cheng goes canoeing too. this implies that he can join u all at kayaking.
ya so consider loh.
but i dunno if hes free on monday anyway.

about the class outing

hey peeps. this is an update of the class outing.

for normal weather:
- sentosa outing.
--- kayaking
--- volleyball (if possible)
--- soccer (if possible)
--- strolling by the beach
--- playing with water
--- cycling
--- take lots of photos to make the LTC pple jealous. (wahhahs)
--- play cards
--- and etc etc
* those who have volleyball, soccer ball or wadever stuff that we can play or use there just bring, can bring cards if u all want. i will be bringing my digicam. anyone who also has a camera jus bring yours.

for wet weather:
- kbox.
--- some of you may not want. but if the majority agrees, we shall go.
- badminton
--- most probably at some ulu courts. but the rackets are a big prob.
- bowling
--- quite interesting but cannot play for long
- pool
--- anyone wants?
- mahjong
--- at someone's house. but we shall not play money.

Fireworks Festival

Alvin here, Mr Lau has given me some details (reliability left to be known) of the 2nd Singapore Fireworks Festival, being held at Marina East.

Sechedules are as follow:-

Date: Saturday, 6th August 2005
Time: 7:45 PM
Theme: Portuguese

Date: Monday, 8th August 2005
Time: 11:59 PM (Countdown to National Day)
Theme: Singapore
-There will be a music performance by SCO

Date: Sunday, 14th August 2005
Time: 8:30 PM
Theme: French

interested? if you wan a class outing to watch fireworks, note that the 6/8/05 one those who have LTC can't make it.

I have inquired into the booking you requested and discovered that the cost is actually quite high:$300 per 10 players which includes:Equipment rental and40 paintballs (2 magazines) per player

whats ur ideas of having ct outing on 8/8/2005? or anyone wanna go watch fireworks on ndp? rmb to reply to choon wee bout the learning journey. what goes bang, splat, ouch? vote for paintball!

anyway, something to tell you all. mr lau has told me that if at least 50% of the class get A for physics for any major exam, with nobody getting below B, he will treat all of us to a treat. i think thats a reasonable target. he wants at least 13As and remaining get Bs. lets work towards it ^_^

HEYA GUYS~!! hahas. this is pinks! pingqi! hahas.. rite now. its 1051. im in the library slacking. hahas. hope u guys enjoy ur lecture anyway. okkkayyy. firstly. wna say u all rock! the blog rocks too. its been a wonderful time spent with u all ( not tht wonderful actually ) for like ermz... 4 mths? hahas. we've been thru lame times. crap times. well. guess there's no SAD times for us. all of us are so different, yet we're together S8. i dunoe. i think im sorta crapping here. talking about random stuff. just wna say i love you all ( i knw u all love me too! X) ) although now, im no longer taking FMATHS ( a killer ) i hope u all wont forget me. and DUN ever OSTRACISE me okkayy!!!! hahas. although im always a suaner. ( cause i got no fmaths ) it does not give u a reason not to include me in class stuff!! =) and oh ya.can smeone change the blogskin? not tht its UGLY or wht. just tht its kinda gurly. and really WEIRD being used as a class blog. its just my opinion la. u all can see whether u all like it anot. and also. wht's the problem of using TERRIBLE huh? and ure so mean?! like tht is indirectly mocking me? or huishan? i dunoe. its just SUPER ____ ( shall stop saying it ) of u all to do tht. its so unbecoming of u all to mock your classmates. i guess mok's name is quite POP here. hahas. okayy. shall stop crapping. last but not least i love S8. hahas.
